EXECUTIVE PROFILE

private-practice.com was the brain child of 3 ASHA certified speech language pathologists, John Torrens, Kellie Hetzel and Don Harris. They recognized the need for practical and effective products, business tools and mentoring for therapists wanting to be in private practice.

John (a definite future ASHA president) has gone on to develop an outstanding therapy company in New York state called Interactive Therapy Group. www.interactivetherapygroup.com

Kellie has also moved on to create a cutting edge learning/therapy company in Atlanta, Georgia called Aurora Strategies. www.aurorastrategies.com

We remain good friends and John and Kellie continue to be trusted advisors.

Don Harris, president of private-practice.com has been a speech language pathologist for 28 years. He started Speech Pathology Associates, PS in 1984 working from home. Over the years his practice evolved into Optimum Rehab and Learning Specialists PS, a Medicare Approved Rehab Agency, providing speech, occupational and physical therapy. Don grew his business to 36 therapists with 3 outpatient clinics serving nine Washington counties.

Don operates Speaking Successfully, PS, a business speech improvement coaching business that provides speech production and listening improvement programs. He also co-developed Cascade Summit Workforce, LLC an industrial rehab company.

Don is also a faculty member with Advanced Brain Technologies. He is a past member of the board of directors for the Washington Hearing and Speech Association and The Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology.
